I had 144.67 left over from last month. Not to bad if I can just keep it up lol.
I bought 3 Bountiful Baskets this week so it really cut into my budget. But it is nice to have some produce without paying an arm and a leg for it, I got some zucchini, cucumbers, coconut, tangerines, lettuce, apples, avocados, potatoes, grapefruits, cauliflower, radishes, and potatoes. I traded the potatoes with someone for cauliflower since I have a ton of potatoes.
Went to Wal-Mart and bought coffee, envelopes, cashews, red wine vinegar , and Spinach to add to my salads. I have some red wine vinegar started but it won't be ready for a while and I need some to pickle the radishes and cauliflower.
So Bountiful Baskets was 45.00 and Wal-Mart was 15.27 for a total of 60.27 for the month I have 239.73 left for the month. 3414.64 left for the year.

I did get a few of last weeks goals finished and some of them started. I got all the boxes from the shed sorted out and put up. That was a bigger job then I thought it was going to be but I did get it done. One of the bigger boxes was some of the girls school work from when they were littler ( Yes I keep most all of their school work, Don't judge lol). I found some of Joleen's kindergarten graduation stuff can't believe she graduates high school this year. I am going to try and put a book together for her for graduation. I'll put some of her school work and things from all the past years with some pictures. Wish I would of thought of this when she was in kindergarten would of been a whole lot easier to do every year then trying to do all of it now. Of course when she was in kindergarten it seemed like a long long time till high school graduation, but now kindergarten seems like yesterday.
I got started on the oranges, still trying to get them finished. I did get the cottage cheese dried. Didn't get to work on the potatoes.
This weeks Goals
Finish up the oranges.
Pickle the cauliflower and radishes.
Work on potatoes.
Work on Joleens book.
Day care lessons for the month.
Months menu.
The girls want me to do some sewing for them.
We are having people over Saturday to play music so I need to get the house company clean. ( It's good for me to have people over once in awhile just so I will do a deep cleaning).
Hopefully I can get a big chunk of this done.
What are your goals for the week?
You got so much accomplished and posting a blog about it must be encouraging to see that, YES! , you did accomplish some goals.
ReplyDeleteI have decided to become much more thrifty in anticipation of my husband retiring in a few years. It is amazing how much we really have to work with and how much we can do on a simple budget, and you showing this on your blog is an encouragement to others who might never comment. Thank-you !

DeleteThank You.
It really is amazing how much a person can cut back, and not really even notice it. One of the reasons I stated this blog was to share some of the things I do with others, It does make me feel good to know I am helping some one else. Thank You for reading,
and have a great day,
Connie
I budget $200 a month for groceries. But it is only 2 adults. That is only food items and things to take care of that food. Canning jars, rings, caps and bags for my food saver. I am finding that I might be able to cut that now that my stock is up to par. I love reading your posts. I find shopping at Aldis for my winter produce is a real money saver.
ReplyDeleteKim,
DeleteIt does help to stick to the budget when your stocks are where they need to be. I am thinking that when the girls move out ( If they move out lol)I will be able to cut the 300 back to at least 200. We don't have an Aldi's here ( wish we did) Just Walmart , Safeway and City market and the produce isn't very cheap at any of them. Thanks and have a great day,
Connie
